Project Breakdown

Overview

Image Summary: A stylized mock advertisement inspired by the keywords “K-pop” and “monotone/duotone.” This short sequence presents the Blackpink lightstick in contrasting, theatrical environments — a gothic palace and a surreal rose garden — capturing both the boldness and elegance of K-pop visuals.

Inspiration: We aimed to reflect Blackpink’s dual identity: fierce yet feminine, bold yet refined. The royal interior emphasizes structure, symmetry, and attitude, while the rose garden brings softness and fantasy. Both scenes were driven by a strong pink-and-black duotone aesthetic, true to the group's iconic palette.

My role

I was responsible for:

  • Modeling and texturing the palace environment, including the ornate columns and mirrored surfaces

  • Designing and building the rose asset, integrating it as a natural throne for the lightstick

  • Contributing to lighting and composition to enhance both clarity and mood

Each environment was carefully staged to spotlight the lightstick as the hero object. Lighting played a key role — bold contrast in the palace, soft bloom in the rose garden — to guide the viewer’s attention and evoke a high-fashion, editorial look.

This project was a deep dive into environmental storytelling through stylization, where every detail — from petal curvature to reflective floors — worked in service of tone, clarity, and brand identity.
