Project Breakdown

Overview

Summary: Blender Beauty is a conceptual product visualization project that imagines a makeup line inspired by the 3D software Blender. The goal was to create a clean, stylized brand identity with packaging, product design, and animation all rendered in Blender and rooted in the visual language of beauty campaigns.

Inspiration: The project blends the clean minimalism of modern beauty brands with the distinctive orange-and-gray palette of Blender’s UI. I wanted to explore what a Blender-themed makeup brand might look like if it were sleek, editorial, and shelf-ready with a playful nod to CG software.

Modeling & Texturing

All packaging (including the lipsticks, palette, blush and highlight) was modeled in Blender with simplified shapes and stylized, high-shine shaders. Texture work was kept minimal, focusing on smooth materials, embossing, and subtle reflective details to match real-world product design standards.

The lighting was soft and clean to evoke a beauty campaign feel. I used large area lights and subtle rim lighting to enhance product silhouettes and shimmer, especially for the “Emission” highlighter texture. Compositing in Premiere Pro helped refine contrast and color harmony.

This was my first time approaching a 3D project like a branding designer — from concept to packaging to animation. I kept the background minimal to spotlight the products and let the playful concept take center stage.
